A-Z of Audiobooks for Authors

Taking the bewilderment out of creating your audiobook

Being an author is hard enough in today’s world.

Turning your book into an audiobook doesn’t need to make things harder.

It can be a daunting, confusing and befudlingly overwhelming process to take your book from print to audio.

There are so many steps, so many questions, so many bang your head against the wall and want to cry moments.

  • Where to find a narrator?

  • How much to budget for?

  • Should you go duet or solo?

  • How long does the process take?

  • What kind of contracts do you need in place, to protect you and the narrator?

  • How much creative control do you have?

  • What to do if it all goes off the rails?

  • Many, many more…

That’s where I come in!

Who I am

A full time narrator with over 30 audiobooks under my belt, I found myself walking many of my authors through the process of all of the background stuff of an audiobook so many times that I decided to help authors get all that knowledge and info BEFORE they start the process.

Born and raised in South Africa, now living in Canada. Dog nerd, D&D nerd and human psychology nerd!

A dark sense of humour because we laugh so we don’t collapse in a corner and stay there!

Books were an escape for me as a child, and as an adult with less time and focus, audiobooks became an important part of my routine and taking care of myself.

I love narrating Fantasy and LitRPG but I’m sucker for a good story in all genres. When I can get completely lost in a story and characters that I live, breathe and dream them during the process - I am as happy and content as I can be.

I still have to pinch myself some days that I get to sit in a little booth and perform stories for a living.

What my clients say

"Nothing is ever easy for Indie authors...unless it is working with Erin to produce my first ever audiobook. I was quite intimidated when I received 92 auditions for the book but have to say Erin's interpretation was head and shoulders above the pack. Working with her was fantastic as she coached me through the ins and outs of what to do next. And the results? I wanted to buy my own book! Can not recommend her enough. And yes, she will end up narrating the rest of the series!"

— Emeryl Williams, Author of The Chosen Discovered: The Chosen of Bryndir Book One

My first time to work with Erin Moore was on my book, Noah and Namaah: Great Romances of the Bible Series. Working with her was THE BEST decision!  With very little direction, she handed me exactly what I wanted! Her vocal work is totally captivating! I plan to work with her again on my next project.  I cannot recommend her enough.

— Rena Jones, Author of Noah and Namaah: Great Romances of the Bible

Working with Erin Moore was an absolute joy from start to finish. She didn't just narrate A Tale of the Fairies: The Trials of the Elemental Realms - she brought it to life. Every character, every emotion, every moment was delivered with such passion, nuance, and heart that I often found myself moved all over again by words I had written years ago. Her voice captured the soul of the story perfectly - from the softness of the fairies' world to the intensity of its trials - and her attention to tone, pacing, and atmosphere was pure magic. Erin has that rare gift of transforming a book into a living experience, and I couldn't be happier with the result. Professional, creative, and truly dedicated, Erin exceeded every expectation. I'm beyond grateful for her incredible work and can't wait to collaborate again for the next chapter of this journey.
